It’s full of changes, starts and stops, and rocks every time. It has a perfect effortless vocal and loose but tight playing. I imagined what it must have done to British youth in 72 when they first curled up with this album. You can feel the birth of the myth of Ziggy during this song. All the glamour and magnetism buzzes off every chord. And when it ends you know a star has been born.
It was like listening to it for the first time today and I was suddenly an excited fan. You can listen to music but when you really hear it, you’re reminded why we are alive!
