David Bowie performed at Frankfurt’s Festhalle on 20 May 1983, as part of the Serious Moonlight Tour.
It was the third date of the tour, which began on 18 May in Brussels.
Bowie’s guitarists were Carlos Alomar and Earl Slick. Dave Lebolt was on keyboards and synthesizers, and Steve Elson, Stan Harrison, Lenny Pickett played saxophones. Carmine Rojas played bass guitar and Tony Thompson was on drums and percussion. George and Frank Simms were the backing singers.
He had previously performed at the venue on 13 April 1976 during the Isolar Tour, and 14 May 1978 for the Isolar II Tour.
Bowie returned to the Festhalle on 5 April 1990 for the Sound+Vision Tour, 31 January 1996 for the Outside Tour, and 18 October 2003 for A Reality Tour.
