This was the fourth edition of the show, which began on 6 July 1964. All recordings of the show were later wiped, apart from the 5 October 1964 edition. It was Bowie’s second TV appearance, following his debut on the BBC’s Juke Box Jury earlier in the month. Ready Steady Go! was a pop music show filmed at Television House on London’s Kingsway. The edition was broadcast two days later on 21 June. Also appearing was blues legend John Lee Hooker. Prior to forming the King Bees, Bowie was briefly in a trio with George Underwood and drummer Viv Andrews called the Hooker
