David Bowie flew from Detroit to Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport on 3 February 1971.
He was on a month-long promotional tour of the USA, which began on 23 January and ended on 18 February.
Bowie was only in the Twin Cities for 24 hours, which was partly spent giving interviews. The following day he flew to Chicago.
