David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars had a day of rehearsals on 7 July 1972.
It was ahead of their show at London’s Royal Festival Hall the following day. As with the show, for the rehearsals they were joined by Lou Reed.
The rehearsals took place at Underhill Studios at 1-3 Blackheath Road in Blackheath, London. The basement studio, a former Co-Op grocery store underneath a chemist’s, was run by Will Palin, who later joined Bowie’s road crew.
