David Bowie died on 10 January 2016 at his apartment at 285 Lafayette Street in Manhattan, New York City. He had been battling liver cancer for the previous 18 months. David and Angela Bowie spend Christmas 1973 with Mick and Bianca Jagger. The Bowies hosted the Jaggers at 89 Oakley Street, London, the townhouse they had started rented in October. Mick and Bianca lived nearby at 48 Cheyne Walk, Chelsea. Also at the Christmas dinner were Angie’s assistant Daniella Parmar and costume designer Freddie Burretti, and children Zowie Bowie and Jade Jagger. On 10 May 1973 David Bowie paid a surprise visit to his former manager Kenneth Pitt. Pitt had steered Bowie’s career from 1966 to 1970, until the singer chose Tony Defries instead.
