I work for LogMeIn and just wanted to clarify that there is indeed a free LogMeIn app that brings the same computer-to-computer access to the iPad and iPhone. We previously only had premium app, called Ignition, but added a free app, simply called LogMeIn for iPad/iPhone, last December. Ignition is still in the market to best support existing Ignition customers — it means we can always update the app with new features, bug fixes, etc. — and Ignition owners were grandfathered into all the features and benefits you’ll find with the paid/premium version of our remote access product. But if you’re new to the app or to LogMeIn, the free version is good way extend remote access to any Mac or PC from your iOS devices.

However, it actually works pretty well on the iPhone. I won’t be doing major things, but to quickly access my laptop to see something and do minor jobs, it’s not that bad.

I’m not an iPad guy, though I know the iPhone app also had a fee. I didn’t get it because I couldn’t imagine using LogMeIn on the iPhone…

It does work pretty well, though. I’m getting to the point where I don’t even carry a laptop anymore.
