I’m compiling similar tips for my website, LegacyDatabase.com. One thing you could add, which I learned the hard way, is to always keep backups of everything (conversion SQL scripts, logins/passwords, ODBC ddls, etc.). I had a mishap once with a complex SQL script that was working 100% but got overwritten somehow and which I had to spend hours trying to reconstruct. Anyway, thanks for the tips!
