David Bowie performed at the Long Marston Airfield in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, on 19 July 1997, as part of the Earthling Tour.
It was the 28th date of the tour, which began on 7 June 1997 in Lübeck, Germany.
Bowie’s guitarist was Reeves Gabrels, and Mike Garson played piano and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, vocals and keyboards, and Zack Alford played the drums.
This appearance was one of two at the Phoenix Festival, the other taking place the following day. This secret set was in the Radio 1 Dance Tent, and Bowie and his band were credited as Tao Jones Index.
Bowie had previously performed at the festival on 18 July 1996 during the Outside Tour.
