Live: Capital Centre, Landover

David Bowie performed at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, on 8 November 1974.

It was the 61st date of the Diamond Dogs Tour, which had kicked off in Montreal on 14 June. This leg of the tour was known as the Soul Tour.

The musical director was Mike Garson, who also played piano and Mellotron. Earl Slick and Carlos Alomar played guitar, the bass guitarist was Emir Ksasan, and the drummer was Dennis Davis.

The backing singers were Ava Cherry, Robin Clark, Geoff MacCormack (billed as Warren Peace), Luther Vandross, Diane Sumler, and Anthony Hinton. The line-up was completed by David Sanborn on saxophone and flute, and percussionist Pablo Rosario.

The Capital Centre was an indoor arena which opened in 1973 and was demolished in 2002.

Bowie returned to the venue on 13 and 14 March 1976 during the Isolar Tour, and on 27 April 1978 for the Isolar II Tour.

He played there again on 27 and 28 August 1983 for the Serious Moonlight Tour, and on 28 and 29 September 1987 for the Glass Spider Tour.
