Davie Jones and the Manish Boys performed at the leisure centre at RAF Wethersfield near Braintree, Essex, on Wednesday 9 September 1964.
The air base was used by the US Air Force at the time. David Bowie’s first appearance with the Manish Boys had taken place at a similar facility on 25 July.
The US Air Force left in 1970, after which it became a reserve airfield until 1993. Thereafter it was used by the Ministry of Defence Police before being sold off in the 21st century.
