I’ll be speaking at the upcoming New England Society of Association Executives’ Technology Conference on Friday, March 30, 2012, in Waltham, MA. I’m presenting the opening general session entitled “Managing your Data and Finding the Gold” and a second session entitled “Selecting a New Association Management Software (AMS) System.”
You can learn more about the conference by clicking here.
If you attend and tell me you read this blog post, I’ll give you a free copy of my book! (Up to five people!)
I was there an attended both your sessions. I wanted to thank you in particular for three things that will greatly simply the AMS RFP/eval journey on which I am about to embark;
1) your pick list idea for vendor responses,
2) numbering all identified issues for easy reference, and
3) your suggestion to include the vendor responses in the contract.
Super helpful!!
Joanna, I’m glad you enjoyed the session. Those are good take-aways!
Wes, I like # 3 too. I think that’s a great idea. But unfortunately it could be a little to late if you call the AMS provider on it after your association is already deployed. I think asking for a trial account with 50,000 reacords of dummy data is one surefire way to see how their product performs.
